Oxbow Bureau or ChestCirca 1760-1780 An excellent example of the Chippendale aesthetic, the Reverse Serpentine or Oxbow Bureau/Chest expresses total sophistication. Patterned from a Massachusetts original, circa 1760-1780, our Oxbow chest displays the same pleasing aesthetics as the original. The graduated drawers of the Oxbow Chest mirror the contour of the molded top. This adds an element of depth and is accentuated with bold willow brasses that highlight the shape of the front. This magnificent chest is available with the strong stately appearance of the claw and ball feet with swept back talons and a flattened ball, or with double-ogee feet. Both options display the strength required to support such a piece. The Bombé or Newport Tea Caddy would be a welcomed accent to the Oxbow Bureau/Chest.
